Spaghetti Night

Spaghetti night is quickly becoming a favorite at our house! Addie loves it and it's quick and easy for me to make after an afternoon or evening of teaching piano.
With a little bit of talking through it, Ryan can even make it!! I'll have to add that to his list of things to make if something ever happens to me - right next to frozen pizza, toast and an occasional pb&j :)!

Usually we strip Addie down to her diaper for spaghetti night, but it's a bit too chilly to do that lately. We settle for going straight to the bathtub after dinner and starting a load of laundry when the bath is done!
Oh, and I shouldn't forget to tell you that once in a while we get brave and give Addie her own bowl instead of putting her food directly on her tray. In that case there are towels under and around her highchair in at least a ten foot radius - towels are easier to clean than carpet is!! (ok, maybe not ten feet...)

I Love to read...

...Especially if it involves "peek-a-boo"! Addie will sit and look at her books for quite a while and she just adores the one in this picture. There's nothing quite like a good book!

Christmas Pics Round 3

Okay, so funny story...last week Sears called me to see if I wanted to schedule an appointment for Addie to have her picture taken with Santa Clause - I refrained from laughing and said "No way." After trying for almost 2 weeks to talk to a manager I finally got one on the phone and she agreed to retake our pictures at no cost. We're much happier with them and you should all be getting a Christmas card, with a picture in it :), this week! Thanks for calling, Sears!

Christmas Pics Round 2

Well, this is it...our Christmas picture. I actually am really disappointed in it. The photographer at Sears was terrible and out of thirty shots this was the best we could do. It wouldn't bother me so much if it was good of Addie, but it's not and it really irritates me that after 2 hours in the studio this is what we came away with. I am officially done with big chain photo studios. I'm just going to bite the bullet and pay a little more for Addie's 1 year pictures and take her to a private studio. I've been so irritated the last two times that we've been to Sears that I've decided it's not worth the headache anymore. My Christmas cards are all addressed, I'm just trying to figure out whether or not I want to put the pictures in...next year we stick with snapshots in front of the tree!

Holiday Dinner

We had our annual holdiay dinner at church on Sunday evening and Addie played Santa. I couldn't resist this outfit - it came complete with Santa hat and shoes-neither of which stayed on for more than 30 seconds at a time. I finally gave up on both. What can I say? First time mom, here. I still have hope for keeping things like hats and shoes on her... haha! She was pretty darn cute, with or without the hat and shoes!

Getting Mommy

Ryan stuck Addie behind me in the chair while I was paying bills today and she was in heaven! She loves to pull hair and there wasn't a whole lot I could do about it with her behind my back... Thanks, daddy.

In the buff...

There's not much to say about these pictures - they just crack me up! Addie has gotten really good (or should I say really bad...)at crawling away from us while we try to change her diaper. This paticular incident was after bath time last night...

Christmas Pics Round 1

I've decided to take Addie's Christmas pictures at home this year in front of the Christmas tree and we tried to get them done on Tuesday.
As you can see, she wasn't to interested in posing for the camera!

I guess we'll put that beautiful, poofy dress on again and try to get some pictures with her looking at the camera...
On the other hand, these are pretty cute and they do capture Addie's personality rather well. We'll probably do Pics Round two and decide after that!

P.S.

For those of you who were wondering - yes I found my camera! It was behind a picture frame on top of my dresser. Don't ask why - I have no idea! Hopefully I can get caught up blogging in the next few days! Enjoy!

Tupperware!!

Sometimes I let Addie empty out my Tupperware cabinet while I do the dishes. She is so funny - she takes one thing out at a time, looks at it for about a second, throws it over her shoulder and starts the process over with the next item!
She loves to make messes these days and this is one of her favorite messes to make! At least it's an easy one to clean up!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope you all had a wonderful day with family and friends yesterday and were blessed to remember all the things you have to be thankful for - I know we were! We had a wonderful time in Mitchell, Indiana with Ryan's grandparents and extended family. It was the first time for most of them to meet Miss Addisyn so she got passed around and kissed quite a bit! She did great and gave big smiles to everybody! We are so thankful for the families God has given us and find ourselves wishing so often that we were able to spend more time with everyone.
Addie has changed our lives so drastically this year. I can't imagine our life without her. It sounds so cliche, but it's true. There was a void in my life before that I didn't even know existed until she was here. She fills our home with joy, even at this young age, and we pray that she will grow to love the Lord and learn to share the joy found in Him with others.
We hope you each know today that you have been a blessing to us and we are thankful for you! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

"The Lord has done great things for us, whereof we are glad." Psalm 126:3

Hmmm...

I have to preface this entry with a note to my dad - I will forever, inevitably, be your little space cadet. Thanks a million... :)!
So, I haven't given up on blogging, in fact, I have quite a few pictures that I want to blog about and fully intend to do so - as soon as I find my camera. Yep. That's right. I have no idea where our camera has disappeared to. I'll probably find it in a kitchen cabinet, in Addie's diaper hanger,in a toy bin, under the bathroom sink. You know, some wierd place that only the best of space cadets could come up with. I did grocery shop over the weekend and it's entirely possible that it got put away with the groceries. I checked the fridge and the freezer just in case. No lie. Maybe when I find it I'll find the 4 missing pacifiers too...
Here's a picture from the first time we put Addie in her Jumperoo - I packed it away today because she's gotten bored with it and is really just about too tall for it anyway. Unbelievable.

Look what Mom let me do...

Generally the cabinet in the entertainment center is off limits to little Miss Addie, but I wasn't feeling well yesterday and really didn't care if she had dvd's and Xbox games everywhere- as long as she was content! I've probably shot myself in the foot though, because I'm sure all day today she'll think she can get into them again...lol!

Addie and Friends...

We had a really good trip to Indy this past weekend and Addie had lots of fun playing with Olivia and Noah. They terrorized Grammy's house and then the parents got to clean up! The kids all got a little crazy and Addie stayed in the action longer than I thought she would before deciding it was safer to watch from a lap...
Ryan and I ended up taking a very scenic drive on the way to the wedding we were supposed to attend. Our directions were terrible and we never found the church! Sorry, Sarah...
We had a couple of hours of quiet in the car though, so that was kinda nice.

Today has been a very difficult day, but I'm finding that Mondays usually are. A day in the church nursery just seems to do Addie in - she's literally attached to my legs for the entire day after she's been away from me. How long does this stage last?

Let me play, too!

What more can I say?

Really, Mom?

Okay, so Addie's coat is a little bit big. She's warm, right? :)

Ten Months!

Addie is ten months old today! The time is just flying by and I find myself a little bit sad that we are getting so close to her first birthday. She is getting so big - right now she's standing at the dining room table and her head is level with the top! She definately won't be going under too many things when she learns how to walk! She has started trying to scale our gates and I just looked over and saw her with both feet on the bottom rung of a dining room chair... I think we might be in for it! Hope you all enjoy your Friday and have a wonderful weekend!

Our Day Today...

...has been a little off kilter. Mommy and Addie are both off schedule and it's really making itself apparent today! Addie only slept an 1/2 hour during afternoon naptime and I couldn't get her back to sleep no matter what - until I realized I had forgotten to give her her after lunch bottle! So once she guzzled 8 ounces she went back to sleep and is snoozing happily now! I'm hoping I'm not the only mom in the world who has temporarily forgotten to feed her baby...anyway, all of you faithful readers, enjoy a good laugh on my account today and rest assured that Addie is still in good hands!

Little Explorer

Addie discovered a new spot - under the dining room table!
If I turn my back for a second and then can't find her it's a pretty safe bet that she's under the table leaving her lasting impression on our chairs - in the form of teeth marks! We had a really good weekend with my family in Michigan, but we were terrible and didn't take any pictures with our camera - all the pictures were taken on my sister's camera so hopefully we can get them from her and we'll put them up then.
Addie is quickly winding down for bed and my window of time for blogging is up - hope everyone has a great week!

She's her Daddy's girl...

I think Addie is starting to look more and more like Ryan, especially in her cheeks and mouth! She definately has my eyes, but other than that she very much looks like Daddy!
Today was a very routine day at our house and now Addie is in bed for the night and there are 19 minutes left before Ryan and I have our Thursday night date - The Office and Grey's Anatomy! He's watching Earl right now, but I think it's one of the stupidest shows ever, so I rarely watch it with him...
Anyway, Addie has been really big lately on giving hugs, so we send a big hug to each of you! If you're lucky you'll also get a very slobbery kiss and a wave bye-bye! We're headed to Mom and Dad's house for the weekend so I probably won't blog again until Monday, but there should be lots of pictures by then!

Our little strawberry

This isn't a costume- it's Addie's fall jacket!! I found this sweater and hat set on ebay and got a terrific deal on it! I think it's my favorite item of clothing for Addie - and that's a hard pick!!

We've been fighting a cold and we had a really big weekend so by Monday Addie was all tuckered out... She's a very sweet baby almost all of the time, but I always think she's extra sweet when she's sleeping. She just looks so precious and innocent. I can't figure out where my tiny baby has gone...now she's an on the go girl!!

Halloween

Halloween isn't actually until tomorrow, but our town always does trick or treating on Sunday afternoon so it's safer for the kids, and then our church does "Trunk or Treat" and "Hobo Night" that evening.
This year Ryan's sister, Amy, and her family came over and the kids celebrated together. We had a lot of fun (especially after the kids went to bed and we raided thier stash...)!
My sisters hooked Addie up with some really cute stuff -Meagen sent an adorable outfit (I think I'll put it on her again tomorrow and go show her off to the people I used to work with!)
and Maureen found this aodrable hot dog costume. It was perfect for Hobo Night since we all roast hot dogs for dinner...!

Bubble Bath Baby!

I'm not sure who loves bathtime more- mommy or Addie! No matter how hard the day has been - and this week we've had quite a few hard days - bathtime is usually enjoyable. Addie loves it when we turn the jets on in our tub and the water swirls around her making bubbbles float everywhere! I'm pretty sure there's something wrong with my nine month old getting more use out of our whirlpool tub than I get...oh well. I'll get a leisurely bath in about 18 years - maybe... :)! She is turning into such a little ham - she rarely misses an opportunity to pose for a picture!
